I went with a friend to shoot some astrophotography at Catherine Hill Bay recently. It’s one of the few spots near Newcastle that’s almost entirely dark, with very little light pollution, so it’s great for the stars and the Milky Way.

I was a little worried it was going to cloud over before the shoot but luckily it stayed very clear and we managed to capture the Milky Way in all its beauty. We also caught the moon rising – it was so bright it almost looks like a sunrise!
